about
- [x] "Spider" is one of the first ideas the four of us jammed out & wrote in a room together. Gonz started playing that guitar riff between songs we were rehearsing, and we all just stopped and listened to it for a while, mesmerized. We wrote most of the music then and there, collaboratively. The vibes in the room were 🔥 until Marc was attacked by a giant spider, giving the song its working title. I always said that we would change it once I knew what the song was going to be about, but the title actually ended up influencing the subject matter. Go figure. This is about the moment you realize the spider’s true intentions. When you finally see it for what it is. They lured you in, betrayed you, and kept you trapped to feed on your insides for as long as possible, or until something else was dumb enough to get trapped. This is one of my favorite songs that I’ve ever had a hand in creating.
lyrics
you want in
so badly, love
you conceal and
hide your fangs
from everyone
you love me
until you don’t
and you bite me
show me your limbs
let me in
please don’t cry
if this is goodbye
you crept up and
fed on my regrets
you crept up and
there’s no coming back
show me your limbs
let me in
please don’t cry
if this is goodbye
if i could start again
somewhere new
would it change a thing?
would I still lose you?
